How to Rank on Google: On-Page VS Off-Page SEO
Have you ever wondered how some businesses get to the top of Google? Well, it’s no secret. They’ve simply mastered the art of search engine optimization (SEO). By optimizing their websites for search engines, they’ve increased their chances of ranking higher in search results. And when you rank higher in search results, you get more visibility, which leads to more traffic and more customers. But how do you optimize your website for search engines? Keep reading to find out.
There are two types of SEO: on-page SEO and off-page SEO. On-page SEO deals with the elements on your website that affect your rankings, such as your content, titles, and metatags. Off-page SEO deals with the things that happen outside of your website that can also affect your rankings, such as backlinks and social media signals. In order to rank higher in search results, you need to focus on both types of SEO. On-Page VS Off-Page SEO… Which is more important? Marketers will argue this until the end of time. We create custom solutions for every client individually. Here are 9 tips on how to do that:
On-Page SEO Tips
1. Use keyword-rich titles and descriptions. When creating titles and descriptions for your web pages, make sure to include relevant keywords. This will tell Google what your page is about and help it rank your page accordingly.
2. Optimize your images. Whenever you upload an image to your website, make sure to include keywords in the file name and fill out the ALT text field with a brief description of the image. This will help Google index your images properly and show them in image search results.
3. Use keyword-rich anchor text. An important part of on-page SEO is using keyword-rich anchor text—the text that people see when they click on a link. If you’re linking to another page on your website, make sure the anchor text includes relevant keywords so that Google knows what that page is about.
Off-Page SEO Tips
1. Get high-quality backlinks. A backlink is a link from another website to yours. The more high-quality backlinks you have pointing to your website, the better chance you have of ranking higher in search results because it shows Google that your site is popular and trustworthy. You can get high-quality backlinks by guest blogging or by being active on social media sites like Twitter and LinkedIn.
2 .Build relationships with influencers .An influencer is someone who has a large following on social media or a popular blog . If you can build relationships with influencers and get them to promote your content ,you ‘ ll see a significant increase in traffic .
3. Pinterest is one of the very best social networks for off-page SEO. We recommend pinning a featured image for every single service you offer and linking it to a specific page on your business’s website. Pinning other valuable content on different boards are great too as it creates a network and ‘spider web’ of links on your business Pinterest profile. Make sure you verify your domain as well.
What not to do SEO-Wise
- Don’t participate in Link Farms, Link sharing or black hat tactics. Black hat techniques may work temporarily but when the search engines catch on your site can get graylisted or blacklisted which in turn can create much bigger SEO and website reputation issues.
- Don’t neglect your site. Make sure you are regularly adding new content. We love when clients add 3-5 blog posts or news articles a week to their site. Realistically many of our clients are busy with running their business so we offer solutions to help you get your content strategy locked down and properly chugging away to make sure you are ‘flirting with the search engines’ and generating more organic traffic.
- Provide value. Don’t sell spam. Google is intelligent enough to see whether you are providing real and relevant information.
